Twitter has banned the account of US President Donald Trump citing “the risk of further incitement of violence” following the US Capitol Hill siege and the unrest that happened afterward.
Trump had 88.7 million followers by the time he got banned on Twitter.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi currently has 64.7 million followers.
By 2020, Modi already became the 2nd most followed leader of the world on Twitter.
With the ban on Trump’s Twitter account, Modi is easily the most followed leader.
The incoming president of the US, Joe Biden, currently has 23.2 million followers.
