Andy Rubin, the man behind the creation of the Android OS, said recently that the Android was actually built for the smart cameras and not for the mobile devices.
Andy mentioned this fact at the Japan New Economy Summit held in Tokyo recently. He said that the smart cameras that he and his co-founders envisioned would use the Android OS to connect to PCs but then they reworked on it better to fit then OS into the smartphones which gained popularity like fire and today it is one of the most widely used OS in smartphones.
Infact Andy also showed some slides from the original pitch to investors in early 2004 wherein the camera is connected to the PC through Android Datacenter.
